Jennifer Andrews – Pastels, acrylic & mixed media

Jenny is a locally based emerging artist, who was educated in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast. She has always had a passion for drawing and painting. Her subjects have included people, flowers and landscapes. Jenny has not had any formal training in the arts although she enjoys exploring with pastels, acrylics and mixed media. With her small children becoming less demanding she has now more time to devote to her art.
Painting is fun for Jenny as it allows her to express her inner world that she can share with others. jenny is locally based and draws on inspiration from her surroundings. Her home is nestled in beautiful rainforest, which provides her with constant inspiration. She enjoys the coastal lifestyle and her art is influenced by the beautiful changing landscape from the coast to the country.
Jenny is currently doing a series on beautiful flowers using acrylics and mixed media. She likes to experiment with an innovative application of ordinary materials. The use of strong bold hues in her work help to emphasize the texture in the paintings..
Admirers of Jenny’s work love the romantic moods she creates and how she is able to bring out the best in nature through her techniques and colour.
In 2006 jenny entered her first art competition at the Sunshine Coast Art Show and was awarded “First Prize” in the Pastel Section.
