Merle Hayes – Watercolour Artist

As a child Merle used to love to draw and paint but it wasn’t until many years later that she discovered the beautiful art of porcelain painting and eventually went on to teach this delicate subject.
Upon retiring and moving to the Sunshine Coast with her husband, Merle took the opportunity to extend her skills to other mediums and in 2002 was fortunate enough to win the Maroochy Shire Council Art Award, using watercolour. This medium, together with a wide variety of subjects gives her great joy.
