Notes from February  Thursday 2nd Mixed & Multi Media Art Group  Meeting

This year it’s planned to have a series of OPTIONAL projects/activities in the small gallery room, starting with a focus on still life – or hopefully, Not-So-Still life. We’ll set up a mélange of objects for inspiration.

Some Ideas: Use any medium – drawing, painting, collage of photographs, fabric or found objects, create a 3rd work – maybe a mobile or a lampshade – any assemblage of ‘things’, wire some objects into or onto a frame – anything goes.

If you are painting or drawing, you could experiment with different approaches: isolate an object, form a pattern with repetition, positive/negatives, overlays, combine images to create ‘fantastical objects.

Think up a fun working title to get going: e.g. ‘101 uses for a teacup’, ‘Don’t drop that vase!’, Wine glasses having a party’, ‘Where did you put the keys’. (Please think up some better ones….!)

Bring along some interesting objects, some good shapes, not necessarily those often expected in still life work. Create, explore, have fun and let’s see what we come up with.

We’ll start getting organized a bit before 1 o’clock, so come early if it suits you.
