What to expect

Begin the art journey here and now!

Drawing is not only the foundation for all your visual art, its beauty allows it to be a beautiful artwork in itself. Drawing might seem a challenge at first, but by understanding a few simple techniques, and a little practice, drawing will give you the freedom to create artworks of your own choice as opposed to creating art in someone else’s voice.

We’ll explore different ways of drawing accurately using line, shape, proportion, tone, and value through easy step-by-step exercises that you can use to draw anything. We’ll practice the 6 universal pencil strokes artists’ use. We’ll consider an introduction to the theory of light and shade, create a value scale, and see how this is used to transform your drawing into 3D life-forms.

Our goal on the second day is to draw a shiny kettle using all your newly acquired skills.
